Housed in the 1896 Hillgrove Public School building, the Hillgrove Rural Life & Industry Museum offers a glimpse into the town's vibrant past. Once a bustling gold mining hub, Hillgrove's population peaked at around 3,000 in 1898, boasting six hotels, four churches, and a range of other establishments. The museum's exhibits, including photographs and memorabilia, provide insights into the daily lives of its residents during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Visitors can explore displays on domestic life, agriculture, and mining industries that shaped the region's history. The museum is open Friday to Monday from 10 am to 2 pm, with free entry. To ensure volunteer availability, it's recommended to phone ahead before your visit.
