
Nestled in the heart of Hervey Bay, the Historical Village & Museum offers a captivating journey into the region's rich past. Spanning over 1.2 hectares, it features 21 meticulously restored buildings, including a slab cottage from 1898, a fully equipped blacksmith shop, and the original Dundowran State School. The museum houses a diverse collection of over 12,000 artifacts, showcasing early settlers' tools, household items, and machinery from the sugar cane industry. Interactive demonstrations, such as blacksmithing, woodturning, corn shelling, and rope making, are held on Sundays from 1 pm to 3 pm, offering visitors hands-on experiences. The village is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 1 pm to 4:30 pm, and Sundays from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm, welcoming guests of all ages to explore and appreciate the area's heritage.
