Hellyer Gorge

Hellyer Gorge offers a breathtaking drive through steep cliffs and winding roads, favored by cyclists and touring cars. The rainforest canopy provides a picturesque picnic spot along the Hellyer River, equipped with toilet and barbecue facilities. Two short walks, the River Walk and the Old Myrtle Forest Walk, begin here. From Wynyard, a 30-minute drive via Mount Hicks Road to Yolla leads to the Murchison Highway, passing through the gorge en route to Waratah, Cradle Mountain, or the Western Wilds.
