Hell's Gate Roadhouse, situated on Cliffdale Station in Nicholson, Queensland, serves as a vital stopover for travelers on the Savannah Way. Established in 1986, it offers fuel, meals, and a variety of accommodations, including ensuite cabins, powered and unpowered campsites, and donga rooms. Guests can enjoy homemade cakes, real coffee, and refreshing drinks. Unique to the roadhouse are scenic helicopter flights that showcase the diverse landscape from the Gulf of Carpentaria to the surrounding outback. Open daily from 7 am to 8:30 pm during the dry season, it's the last fuel stop for 320 km heading west.
