Hartz Mountains National Park

Hartz Mountains National Park, located 90 minutes southwest of Hobart, offers accessible alpine experiences within Tasmania's Wilderness World Heritage Area. The park's centerpiece is the 1,254-meter Hartz Peak, providing panoramic views of the Southwest wilderness. Visitors can explore glacial lakes like Lake Esperance and Ladies Tarn, and enjoy shorter walks to Arve Falls and Waratah Lookout. The park features diverse vegetation, including wet eucalypt forests and alpine heath, and is home to wildlife such as Bennett's wallabies and echidnas.
