Hartley Courthouse

Hartley Courthouse, constructed in 1837, stands as a testament to colonial architecture in the Greek Revival style. Designed by Mortimer Lewis and built from locally quarried sandstone, this imposing building remains largely intact. Visitors can immerse themselves in its history through audio re-enactments and holograms depicting court proceedings. The original prison cells, once housing notorious bushrangers and cattle thieves, are preserved, offering a glimpse into the past. Today, the courthouse serves as a venue for events and functions, providing a unique setting for special occasions.
