Haberfield, NSW

Nestled in the historic garden suburb of Haberfield, the recently refurbished library and community rooms at 78 Dalhousie Street offer a serene environment for all visitors. The facility features a charming outdoor courtyard and tranquil spaces, making it an ideal spot to relax or engage in community activities. The library's collection has been thoughtfully updated to reflect the diverse interests of the community, including a new bilingual picture book collection in Italian and English, an expanded DVD selection, and a new toy collection complete with robots. Enhanced accessibility is a key feature, with the entire building now fully accessible through the addition of ramps and a lift. The addition of a community room has created an enclosed garden ideal for family time. There are now more work and study spaces, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the venue, including the covered veranda and garden. Two multi-use community rooms, each with a kitchenette and A/V technology, are available for booking. The library also offers six public computers, scanning and printing facilities, and has implemented energy-efficient measures, including rooftop solar panels and water-saving fixtures. The original entrance to the historic Haberfield School of Arts has been reinstated, and the WW1 Haberfield Roll of Honour has been carefully restored and reinstated within the Library.
