Griffiths walking track

Griffiths Walking Track, an 8km loop in Barren Grounds Nature Reserve, offers a 2.5 to 3.5-hour bushwalk through diverse landscapes, including heathland, woodland, and rainforest. Starting at Barren Grounds picnic area, the trail leads to Illawarra Lookout, providing expansive coastal views. Along the way, hikers can enjoy vibrant wildflowers in spring and blooming banksias in winter. The track is home to various bird species, such as honeyeaters and southern emu wrens, with occasional sightings of the ground parrot or bristlebird. A highlight is the naturally formed stone bridge over Lamonds Creek.
