Great Australian Bight Marine Park

The Great Australian Bight Marine Park, located south of the Nullarbor Plain, spans 45,822 square kilometers from the continental shelf to the deep ocean. It serves as a vital calving and gathering area for endangered southern right whales, with optimal whale watching from June to October. The park's diverse habitats support unique marine life, including Australian sea lions, which travel extensive distances to feed and breed in its waters. Managed by the Mirning and Wirangu peoples, the park features National Park, Multiple Use, and Special Purpose zones.
