Gowang Creek, located in the Central West region of New South Wales, Australia, is a perennial stream that flows southwest from the Curumbenya Range, eventually joining the Lachlan River at Condobolin. The creek spans approximately 217 kilometers, descending 312 meters over its course. Historically, the area was inhabited by the Wiradjuri people, and European exploration dates back to Major Thomas Mitchell and John Oxley. Notably, the bushranger Ben Hall was fatally shot at Goobang Creek in 1865. The name "Goobang" is believed to derive from an Aboriginal word for a species of acacia tree.
