A notable feature is the Glen Roy Conservation Park, established in 1970, which offers a serene environment for nature enthusiasts. The town's name is inspired by a town of similar name in Scotland. Glenroy is situated on the former railway line between Wolseley and Mount Gambier, which ceased operations in April 1995.
