Built in 1863, the Glencoe Woolshed is a 36-stand shearing shed that has remained unchanged since its construction. Constructed from local limestone and featuring hand-adzed, cathedral-like arched Blackwood beams with supporting posts of pit-sawn Blackwood, it stands as a remarkable example of rural architecture. Unique for never being converted to mechanized shearing, the woolshed now serves as a museum, offering visitors a glimpse into the history of blade shearing and wool handling processes. The site also features gardens, picnic tables, and is wheelchair accessible. Entry fees are $6 for adults; children under 15 and National Trust members enter free. The woolshed is open Monday to Saturday and public holidays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Sunday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Keys can be obtained from the Glencoe General Store.
