
Gidgealpa is a remote locality in South Australia's Far North region, approximately 780 km northeast of Adelaide and 58 km southwest of Innamincka. Established in 2013, it encompasses the company town of Moomba and Moomba Airport. The Strzelecki Track traverses the area, connecting it to other parts of the state. The region is known for its significant solar energy production, with over 60 homes equipped with solar panels, collectively generating substantial renewable energy. The Coongie Lakes Ramsar site, a notable conservation area, lies on the northwest side of Gidgealpa.
