Gardens Lagoon Beach, Tasmania

Garden Lagoon Beach is an 800-meter stretch of sand located in The Gardens, Tasmania. The beach forms a barrier across the mouth of a 700-meter wide drowned valley, impounding the shallow 10-hectare Garden Lagoon. The area is bordered by cleared farmland and a farmhouse overlooks the southern end of the beach. The beach is slightly protected by a rocky point and reefs to the south, with usually low tide terrace conditions prevailing, while two to three rips form during higher waves.
