Garden Island is a tied island located approximately 2 kilometers from Clarence Point, near the mouth of the Tamar River in Tasmania. Accessible via a dirt road off Bevic Road, it offers a flat, open landscape with scenic views and productive seawater fishing spots. The island is surrounded by the Tamar River, an estuary that has been excavated to provide a channel for shipping. While the island lacks facilities, it provides a peaceful retreat for nature enthusiasts and anglers. Notably, oysters in the estuary have been found to contain elevated levels of copper, zinc, and cadmium.
