The Garden Island Ships' Graveyard, located in the North Arm of the Port Adelaide River, is one of the world's largest and most diverse shipwreck sites, featuring 25 abandoned vessels dating from 1909 to 1945. This unique maritime heritage trail offers paddlers a chance to explore the remains of sailing ships, steamers, motor vessels, ferries, barges, dredgers, and pontoons. The area is also a haven for birdlife and marine creatures, with mangroves providing a habitat for dolphins and other species. The trail is marked by interpretive signs and is best navigated by canoe or kayak.
