Freres Crossing Reserve, located at the end of Freres Road in Kentlyn, offers a serene bushland experience along the Georges River. The 1 km walking trail, accessible via the Old Coach Road, features a loose, rocky, unsealed surface with steep sections. The area is rich in native flora, including Gymea lilies, fuchsia heath, and grevilleas, and is home to diverse wildlife such as parrots, possums, gliders, wallabies, water skinks, and water dragons. The reserve also encompasses the Georges River, providing opportunities for fishing and swimming. The historic Frere's Crossing Bridge, named after early settler George Pierre Frere, adds to the area's charm. A volunteer bushcare group actively works to enhance the natural environment through activities like weed management, litter removal, and tree planting.
