
Located at 2 Roberts Street in Hamilton, the Frances Hewett Community Centre serves as a hub for various health and welfare services. Operated by the Western District Health Service, it offers facilities such as small consulting rooms and larger meeting spaces, available for both staff and public hire. The centre hosts permanent tenants, including the Southern Grampians Shire Council’s Community Services Department, which encompasses Family Day Care and Maternal & Child Health, as well as the Glenelg Southern Grampians Drug Treatment Service. Visiting health and welfare professionals include Meli Generalist Financial and Gambling Counselling Service, Department of Justice, ozchild, SAFV (Sexual Assault & Family Violence), and Emma House. Additionally, the centre provides a Needle Syringe Program (NSP) to support harm reduction efforts.
