Framlingham Aboriginal Trust

Located in Purnim, Victoria, the Framlingham Aboriginal Trust manages the historic Framlingham Aboriginal Mission site, established in 1861. The Trust oversees residential, community, and agricultural activities for the local Aboriginal community. Notable features include a church built around 1920 and a cemetery, reflecting the area's rich cultural heritage. In 2009, the Trust dedicated the Framlingham Forest Indigenous Protected Area, covering 1,130 hectares of native forests, as the first Indigenous Protected Area in Victoria. The Trust continues to support self-governance and cultural practices for the community.
