Located in Foster's Main Street, the Foster Museum showcases the district's rich history, from the 1870 gold discovery to the establishment of Wilsons Promontory National Park in 1906. The museum complex includes the 1890 Foster Post Office, a 1913 Agnes State School building, a pioneer cottage, a bark hut, and the former Foster Gaol. Exhibits highlight the growth of dairy and fishing industries, as well as the area's development into a thriving community. The museum is set in a terraced garden below Kaffir Hill, a former gold-mining site.
