Located in Lytton, Queensland, Fort Lytton Historic Military Precinct is Queensland's premier military exhibit, featuring extensive fortifications, multiple military museums, and a large collection of Australian artillery. Built in 1880–81 to protect Brisbane from naval attacks, the fort is a pentagonal fortress with heavy armaments concealed behind grassy embankments and surrounded by a water-filled moat. It served as a training ground for Queensland's Defence Force and played significant roles during both World Wars. Today, the precinct offers free admission, guided tours, and parking on Sundays from 10 am to 4 pm, making it an ideal destination for families and history enthusiasts.
