Fonterra's Stanhope facility, located at 20 Midland Hwy, Stanhope VIC 3623, has been a cornerstone of the local community for over a century. Employing around 180 staff, it processes approximately 1.2 million litres of milk daily from 260 local farms. The state-of-the-art plant produces a diverse range of cheeses, including cheddar, parmesan, gouda, and mozzarella, as well as milk powders and whey products. Recognized for its high-quality products, the facility has been honored with the Champion Asia-Australasia Cheese Trophy and a gold medal for Best Mild Cheddar in Australasia. Committed to sustainability, Fonterra Stanhope has transitioned to recycle-ready packaging for its 20kg cheese blocks, aligning with the company's goal to ensure all packaging is recyclable, reusable, or compostable by 2025. The facility also actively supports the local community, contributing to initiatives like the Girgarre-Stanhope Rail Trail and the Stanhope Men's Shed, fostering environmental stewardship and community engagement.
