Florentine

Florentine, located approximately 81 kilometers northwest of New Norfolk, is a rural locality in Tasmania's Central Highlands and Derwent Valley regions. The area is renowned for its dense rainforests, towering Eucalyptus regnans trees, and the Florentine River, which meanders through the valley. Visitors can explore various hiking trails, including the Twisted Sister Track, which offers a short loop through lush rainforest leading to a notable giant ash tree. The region is also home to the Florentine River Regional Reserve, part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, providing opportunities for fishing and wildlife observation.
