Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Oil Distillery, established in 1991, is a family-owned business located in MacGillivray, South Australia. As the only commercial eucalyptus oil distillery in South Australia, it produces 100% pure Australian eucalyptus essential oil from the unique Kangaroo Island Narrow-leaf Mallee. Visitors can explore the distillation process through self-guided or guided tours, which include a brief introductory DVD and a stroll through the grounds, passing by resident emus and the historical Macgillivray Post Office. The on-site café offers breakfast and lunch options, along with award-winning locally roasted barista coffee and in-house cakes. Emu Ridge also serves as the cellar door for Kangaroo Island's award-winning apple cider, providing a perfect blend of history, flavor, and local culture. The venue is family-friendly, pet-friendly, and features picnic and nature play areas. Emu Ridge is open seven days a week, from 9 am to 4 pm, and is located just 15 minutes from Kingscote, American River, and Parndana.
