Effie’s, located at 281 Sydney Road in Balgowlah, is a charming café and wine bar that seamlessly blends community spirit with culinary excellence. Housed in a beautifully restored corner store, the venue features original plaster ceilings and a striking Calacatta viola marble coffee window. By day, Effie’s serves specialty coffee from Skittle Lane and a selection of pastries from Staple Bread & Necessities. In the evenings, it transforms into a wine bar, offering natural wines curated by Manly’s Winona Wine and a menu of share plates. The space also showcases a curated collection of homewares, including items from Maison Balzac and handmade ceramics by Tanika Jellis and Gretel Corrie. Effie’s operates Monday to Friday from 6 am to 2 pm, and on weekends from 6:30 am to 2 pm.
