Dumbleyung Lake, the largest inland body of water in Western Australia's southwest, spans 13 km in length and 6.5 km in width. Its name, derived from the Noongar word 'Dambeling,' means 'large lake or inland sea.' In 1964, Donald Campbell set a world water speed record here, reaching 444.66 km/h in his boat, Bluebird K7. Visitors can enjoy activities like boating, water-skiing, paddleboarding, and kayaking. The lake is also a haven for over 25,000 waterbirds. A granite memorial to Campbell is located at Pussy Cat Hill, offering panoramic views of the lake.
