The Dr Bruce Yeates Memorial Cottage, located at 63 Ilfracombe Road in Longreach, Queensland, is a historic stone building constructed between 1981 and 1982 by renowned Australian outback identity R.M. Williams. The cottage is named in honor of Dr. Bruce Yeates, the first Chairman of the Stockman's Hall of Fame Board of Directors, who was a close friend of R.M. Williams. The building is constructed from sandstone blocks sourced from Leander Station, 30 kilometers east of Winton, and marble slabs from Marble Bar. The first stone was laid by Australian country music icon Slim Dusty. Notably, an 80-year-old elephant named Lena from the Soul Brothers Circus assisted in lifting the timber beams into place during construction. The cottage serves as a tribute to Dr. Yeates' significant contributions to the outback community and the Australian Stockman's Hall of Fame.
