Gantheaume Point, located approximately 6 km from Broome, Western Australia, is renowned for its ancient dinosaur footprints preserved in the reef rock for over 125 million years. These footprints, visible at low tide, offer a glimpse into the prehistoric past of the region. A plaster cast of the tracks is embedded at the top of the cliff for easy viewing during high tide. Visitors can also explore Anastasia's Pool, a natural rock pool modified by a former lighthouse keeper for his wife's therapeutic bathing. The area provides stunning coastal scenery, where red cliffs meet the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. Access to the rocky headland is moderately difficult, with a car park about 150 to 250 meters away, requiring a climb down the rocks. It's advisable to check tide times at the visitor centre in Broome before heading out to ensure the footprints are visible.
