Nestled in the heart of the Jagungal Wilderness, Derschko's Hut offers a rustic retreat accessible only on foot or via approved management fire trails. Constructed in the early 1950s by the Snowy Mountains Authority, the hut features three rooms spanning approximately 6.5 square meters, with iron roofing, timber flooring, and weatherboard walls. Inside, a potbelly stove provides warmth, and a small creek nearby offers water. The hut is a favored base for skiers and hikers exploring the surrounding alpine terrain.
