Dandongadale River

The Dandongadale River, a perennial watercourse in Victoria's Alpine region, originates below Cobbler Plateau and descends 959 meters over its 41-kilometer journey. It traverses dense forests and rugged terrains, culminating in the Dandongadale Falls, the state's highest waterfall at 255 meters. The river's headwaters are impounded by Lake Cobbler, offering picturesque views. Anglers can find brown and rainbow trout, blackfish, redfin, and mountain galaxias in its waters. Accessing the river involves navigating through dense vegetation and requires a walk along a track starting from the road bridge near the Rose River junction.
