Cundeelee is a small Aboriginal community located approximately 785 kilometers east of Perth and 160 kilometers east of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia's Goldfields-Esperance region. Established in 1950 by the Australian Aborigines’ Evangelical Mission, it became an Aboriginal community in 1982. The community was incorporated in 1976 and managed the town from 1978. In the 1980s, Cundeelee was closed, and most residents relocated to Coonana, with some returning to their traditional lands in 1984.
