Cromer Conservation Park, established in 1976, is a 44-hectare protected area located approximately 38 kilometers northeast of Adelaide, near Birdwood. This park conserves a rare remnant of the wetter Mount Lofty Ranges vegetation, featuring woodlands dominated by Long-leafed Box and Pink Gum trees. The understorey comprises a dense shrub heath with species like Acacia, Hakea, Banksia, and Xanthorrhoea. Over 110 bird species have been recorded here, including the Adelaide Rosella, Superb Fairywren, and Crescent Honeyeater. Notably, the park is one of only three sites in South Australia where the critically endangered blue star sun-orchid is found.
