
Coyrecup Lake, located approximately 25 km east of Katanning in Western Australia's Great Southern region, is an ephemeral salt lake renowned for its seasonal transformations. Encompassing around 453 hectares, the lake's depth varies from 1.7 meters in spring to a maximum of 3 meters when full. Surrounded by the Coyrecup Nature Reserve, it features diverse native vegetation, including proteaceous heath scrub and samphire species. The lake serves as a vital habitat for numerous waterbird species, including the endangered freckled duck and blue-billed duck. Historically, it was used for boating in the early twentieth century.
