Cowirra is a tranquil locality in South Australia's Murraylands region, situated on the east bank of the Murray River, directly across from Mannum. Established in 1901, it features low-lying riverfront flats used for irrigated farming, including sheep, grain, beef cattle, and potatoes. The area encompasses Mannum East and serves as the eastern landing point for the Mannum ferries. The reclaimed Cowirra Swamp, drained in 1919, was made available for soldier settlement following World War I.
