Cowcowing Lakes

Cowcowing Lake, situated approximately 26 kilometers north of Wyalkatchem on the Wyalkatchem Koorda Road, spans about 15,000 hectares. This expansive saltpan undergoes seasonal transformations, becoming a wetland during wetter months and drying into a salt crust or dusty plain in summer. The lake's unique ecosystem supports dense salt-tolerant vegetation and serves as a natural conduit for returning salts to the ocean. Visitors can experience its changing landscapes and observe the diverse flora and fauna that thrive in this distinctive environment.
