Cowcowing Lakes

Cowcowing Lakes, situated approximately 26 kilometers north of Wyalkatchem on the Wyalkatchem Koorda Road, is a vast saltpan spanning around 15,000 hectares. This expansive area undergoes seasonal transformations, shifting from a wetland teeming with salt-tolerant vegetation to a dry, salt-crusted plain during the summer months. The lake's dynamic ecosystem serves as a natural conduit, returning salts deposited by rainfall back to the ocean.
