Cowcowing Lakes

Cowcowing Lakes, situated approximately 26 kilometers north of Wyalkatchem on the Wyalkatchem Koorda Road, is a vast saltpan spanning around 15,000 hectares. This seasonal lake undergoes dramatic transformations, from a wetland teeming with salt-tolerant vegetation to a dry, cracked salt crust during the summer months. The area is a haven for birdwatchers, especially during migratory seasons, and offers a unique landscape for nature enthusiasts. While the lake is accessible for exploration, visitors should be self-sufficient, as there are no facilities on-site.
