Coomberdale, WA

Coomberdale is a quaint town nestled along the Midlands Road between Moora and Watheroo in Western Australia's Wheatbelt region. Established in 1895 with the construction of a railway siding, it derives its name from a well identified by explorer Alexander Forrest during his survey for Edmund King in 1866. The town's heritage is showcased by the Coomberdale Hall, a timber-framed, weatherboard-clad structure built around 1920, now serving as a community hub. The local economy thrives on wheat farming, with the CBH Group operating a receival site here. Additionally, the area is home to Simcoa, a silicon producer mining Coomberdale chert, a mineral found in the threatened Noondine ecological community, which supports species like Acacia aristulata and Cryptandra glabiflora.
