Cockatoo Creek camping area

Nestled within Mount Elliot's rugged terrain, the Cockatoo Creek camping area offers a secluded bush camping experience accessible only by a 1.6 km hike from the Alligator Creek day-use area. This walk-in site accommodates up to six campers, providing a tranquil retreat beside the creek. Campers must be self-sufficient, as no facilities are provided; open fires and generators are prohibited. The area is open 24 hours a day, though access may be restricted during adverse weather conditions. Mobile phone coverage is limited, so plan accordingly.
