The Cobb & Co Crossing of the Bulloo River in Thargomindah is a historic stone crossing that once served as the primary access into town. In the 1890s, Thargomindah became a hub for Cobb & Co Coaches, connecting distant settlements like Hungerford, Wompah, Oontoo, Kyabra, and Toompine. The journey to Cunnamulla, approximately 150 miles away, would take about 5–6 days on a good (dry) road. The stone crossing was in use until late 1929, when the current bridge was built.
