Cobar Miners Memorial

The Cobar Miners Memorial, inaugurated in June 2021, stands as a poignant tribute to those who have perished in the local mines. Located at the entrance of the Cobar Mining Heritage Park on the Barrier Highway, the memorial features robust concrete walls and a prominent steel plate entry portal, symbolizing the mine head. A steel spike extends through the roof, serving as a natural vent. Inside, an underground chamber houses brass plaques commemorating the miners, serving as a solemn reminder of their sacrifices.
