Housed in the historic Schaeffer House at 190 Fitzroy Street, Grafton, the Clarence River Historical Society showcases the region's rich heritage. Built between 1901 and 1903 by Grafton's first architect, F.W.C. Schaeffer, the homestead now features a museum and research room. Visitors can explore a diverse collection of artifacts, including china, glassware, and furniture, reflecting the area's history. Notably, a painting of Dalmorton adorns the main dining room. Established in 1931, the society is the oldest country historical society in New South Wales.
