The Palace Backpackers Memorial, situated within the space, features a glass mural by artist Sam Di Mauro, containing 15 memory boxes dedicated to each of the victims of the 2000 fire, and a portrait titled "Taking a Break in the Field" by Josonia Palaitis. The gallery hosts various art exhibitions and is wheelchair accessible, with lift access through the Visitor Information Centre or via an alleyway. Operating hours are weekdays from 9 am to 4 pm and weekends from 9 am to 3 pm, with closures on public holidays.
