The Wall of History in Charters Towers is Australia's largest hand-made mosaic, standing seven meters tall and stretching 80 meters in length. Adorned with over five million hand-cut ceramic and glass tiles, this monumental artwork vividly depicts the pivotal moments that have shaped the region. Located along the roadside wall of Poppet Head Plaza, the mural illustrates the Charters Towers Gold Rush across eight panels, beginning with the captivating story of Jupiter Mosman, an Aboriginal boy whose accidental discovery sparked the northern gold rush. Each panel is accompanied by plaques providing insights into the history encapsulated in the imagery, allowing viewers to appreciate each moment individually. The Wall of History was unveiled as a commemorative gift marking 150 years since the declaration of the goldfields, offering visitors a captivating journey through time.
