Charters Towers Regional Council

Charters Towers Regional Council, located at 12 Mosman Street, Lissner QLD 4820, serves as the local governing body for the Charters Towers region in Queensland, Australia. The Council is dedicated to fostering sustainable development, economic growth, and community well-being. In October 2024, it joined the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority’s Reef Guardian Council program, contributing to the protection of the Great Barrier Reef. In March 2025, the Council adopted its Economic Development Strategy 2025-2030, outlining a vision for regional growth and prosperity. Additionally, the Council has initiated the Renew Charters Towers project to revitalize the central business district by activating vacant commercial spaces with creative businesses and startups.
