Cave Hill Launch

Cave Hill Launch, located near Beaufort, Victoria, offers an inland rock face launch site for hang gliding enthusiasts. Situated approximately 140 km west of Melbourne, access is via Mount Cole Road, turning left onto Cave Hill Track, and a 1 km drive to the car park. The launch area, about 90 meters from the car park, features a rocky, sloping setup space accommodating up to eight gliders. The site provides a 3-4 meter drop into a wooded area overlooking the upper end of Middle Creek valley. Due to its steep slope and rocky terrain, it's recommended that first-time visitors fly under the supervision of a Western Victoria Hang Gliding Club member to familiarize themselves with site protocols and potential hazards. Visitors are welcome but should contact the club beforehand. Please note, flying is prohibited on Total Fire Ban days, and vehicles are not permitted in paddocks without express consent from landowners. The site is managed by Parks Victoria under the National Parks Act 1975.
