Established in 1880, Carnarvon Pioneer Cemetery is a multicultural site that reflects the diverse heritage of the region. Notable gravesites include those of Afghan cameleers and early settlers. The cemetery was closed in 1980, but some burials continued until officially gazetted closed in 1980.
