Carnarvon Gorge camping area, Carnarvon National Park

Nestled beneath a canopy of gums and Carnarvon fan palms, the Carnarvon Gorge camping area offers a picturesque and semi-secluded retreat. Accessible by both 2WD and 4WD vehicles, it features 35 grassed, numbered campsites equipped with picnic tables and free gas barbecues. Flushing toilets and wheelchair-accessible facilities enhance comfort, though shower facilities are not available. Open fires and generators are prohibited to preserve the natural environment. Mobile phone coverage is limited, and all water must be treated before drinking. Camping is permitted during the Queensland Easter, Winter, and Spring school holidays; at other times, the area remains closed.
