Nestled in Carisbrook, Victoria, the Carisbrook Log Jail, known as "The Logs," is a historic log structure dating back to the early 1850s. Serving as the primary gaol in the Carisbrook Police District until 1858, it continued to house lesser offenders until around 1900. Notable bushrangers, including Morgan the Murderer and Captain Melville, were imprisoned here. The building has been relocated twice, now situated on Bucknall Street. Managed by the Carisbrook Historical Society, it offers free entry and informative displays, providing insights into Victoria's colonial penal history.
