Carinda House, located at 15 Stephen Street in Warialda, NSW, is a historic building with a rich past. Constructed around 1880 for W.H. Crane, the proprietor of the Royal Hotel, it was originally a private residence. The top storey was added in the early 1900s. In the 1920s, it served as a maternity hospital and later as a boarding house. In 1977, the community transformed it into a cultural centre, now managed by local volunteers. Today, Carinda House operates as an arts and craft centre, showcasing local handmade crafts, artworks, country-style baking, jams, preserves, babywear, hand knits, unique stationery, souvenirs, and temporary exhibitions. It also offers a unique venue for dinners, private parties, meetings, fundraising events, and temporary exhibitions. The building features original timber and early bush carpentry, with sturdy tree stumps supporting the upper storey, which is accessed by a narrow internal staircase.
